Join Xtreme Everest colleague and friend Mike Tipton at this year Physiology Society Extreme Environmental Physiology: Life at the Limits which is taking place from the 2 - 4 September in Portsmouth.

This conference will bring together leaders from the world of extreme environment research to explore what happens to our physiology in these environments. Speakers for the conference include other Xtreme Everest and CASE Medicine colleagues Chris Imray, Hugh Montgomery, Sundeep Dhillon and Kevin Fong alongside US astronaut James Pawelczyk who will be talking about his time aboard the NASA STS-90 space shuttle.

The conference is also hosting the Michael J Rennie award for best oral communication by an early career researcher. Michael J Rennie contributed immensely to the development of the field of muscle physiology. His lifelong research interest was in amino acid metabolism in skeletal muscle in health, exercise, ageing and disease.
