Xtreme Everest Scientific Strategy Group

Xtreme Everest is a unique multi-­institutional collaborative research programme with the aim of improving the care of patients with hypoxia; in particular, critically ill patients.

A wide collaborative network brings together experts in critical care medicine, integrative physiology, cellular biochemistry, mitochondrial biology, genomics, epigenetics, bioinformatics and systems biology

Xtreme Everest is a dedicated team of intensive care doctors, nurses and scientists. They conduct experiments on themselves and other volunteers at high altitude in order to develop novel therapies to improve the survival rates of their patients.
